The Edmonton Arts Council commissioned the creation of two exterior mosaic murals for the Davies Station LRT ramp. The artwork ranges from 16cm to 130cm wide and is 45.5m long on either side. The fabrication of Confluence involved the making of 73 organic, handmade, lightweight concrete boards, which were then covered with mosaics. A hidden anchoring system makes the sculptural installation appear to be floating in front of the wall.

At the heart of this concept is the inseparableness of our skies, water, and land. The cloud-like, water-like, and ravine-like shape of the mosaic murals suggests the unity of the three. The southbound side is reminiscent of the sparkling surface of the North Saskatchewan River, the deep blue skies of the long summer evenings, and the lush range of greens in the Aspen Parkland. The northbound side incorporates the incredibly performative skies at sunrise and sunset as well the burst of leafs colours in the fall.
